Court judge Casper Kestering takes you back to the year 1659 and tells you about everyday life in the late Middle Ages. He accompanies you on a tour of the historic old town, starting at the fairytale moated castle where the judge works for the count. In front of the prison in the old city wall, he asks for your advice for an upcoming trial: is the woman a witch and what punishment would be appropriate? Pillory, prison or the stake? On the lively market square with a view of his picturesque canal house, he immerses himself in the life of the patricians in keeping with their rank. During the rest of the tour, you will learn about the social differences between merchants, farmers, peasants and plague victims. You will witness the terrible consequences of the Thirty Years' War and the difficult survival conditions of the townspeople. You will hear why the count feels compelled to issue new decrees and you yourself will be an active part of the proclamation.
