Witch's weed and magic potion - herbs that heal and taste.

Hands-on herb tours at the gates of the historic town of Burgsteinfurt. Which magic herb helps with nosebleeds or coughs, what is a quick remedy for mosquito bites and what is the green nine? The herb witch knows the answer. She explains what people in the Middle Ages used certain herbs for and what wild herbs can still be used for today. Memory verses and sayings about the individual herbs help to memorise them. At the end, the participants can make their own herbal pillows or scented sachets.

"Early Bird" is a 5-piece vocal ensemble from Cologne, which was formed during their studies at the Cologne University of Music and Dance. In 2023, the singers started making music together and sharing their love of music. vocal jazz music. Since then, they have rehearsed regularly - often at an early hour - and together to develop their repertoire, which consists of self-arranged jazz standards and cover songs by well-known groups such as "The Real Group" and "Manhattan Transfer". Whether quiet, loud, sensitive, emotional, fast, melancholic or rousing, the passion passion for singing can be heard and felt in all facets!

In 2023, Total Tonal thrilled the guests of the Huck-Beifang-Haus in a sold-out hall. As choirmaster, Jörg Hilpert arranges popular songs in his own complex and sensitive way. Each voice comes into its own with its individual musicality. The interpretation of songs such as "Land unter" by Herbert Grönemeyer or "Viva La Vida" by Coldplay amaze with their new interpretation and go straight to the ear and heart, as does "Can you feel the love tonight" from the musical "The Lion King" The choir's fresh arrangements are matched by the varied choreography, which is quite a feat on the small stage.

Günter Rückert has been living and working in Dortmund for many years as a freelance artist in the fields of painting, graphics and as an author and director for independent theatres. His cartoons have been published in various magazines since 1986. He captures moments of everyday madness in numerous solo exhibitions. He is first and foremost a satirist, but also a subtle observer of the visible world and its darker sides, but always with humour and a twinkle in his eye. "If we give up laughing, we have given up on ourselves. Humour is the productive force and must not be missing in art and everyday life". And so you will find many motifs to smile about that will remain in your memory.

Hofrichter and Rentmeister Casper Kestering shares with you stories and facts from everyday life, from the founding of the first brand cooperatives around 700 years after Christ, right into the 20th century: About the beginning of a trade route, border workers in search of money and happiness, about life as a student who had to move from Steinfurt to the Netherlands - and of course about royal Dutch visits to Steinfurt Castle!
