In keeping with the current exhibition "Paradise of Irrelevance", Günter Rückert will read from his autobiographical book, which humorously describes his artistic development and the attempt to turn his hobby "art" into a profession. "Can you make a living from it?" is one of the questions that artists are asked time and again. The answer is "yes" if you are as skilful with pencil, brush and paint as Günter Rückert. Hans Wanning will enhance the evening musically on the jazz piano. Let yourself be surprised, according to the motto: "The must is what the will should be able to do in the end"

"Where have all the rascals gone?" This is the question Klaverjahn asks himself as he searches for the rascals of the Hohe Schule - one of the first reformed universities in Westphalia. And it is here at the Hohe Schule that he meets you and takes you on a search.... On this journey through the 17th century, Klaverjahn passes buildings from days long gone and has exciting and entertaining anecdotes to tell. The "Bengel" have to be found by closing time, but caution is advised, because these are troubled times and pauper hunters, bagmen and the sick make the search in Stemmert more difficult.

Intimate ballads, expressive soundscapes and powerful songs unite in warm acoustic sounds: poetic, approachable, handmade.

He has already won several awards for his songs at various competitions.

Reidar Jensen was recently awarded the Steinfurt District Culture Prize 2025. An honour that underlines the importance of his work.

With his pleasantly relaxed stage presence and authentic charm, the singer/songwriter creates an atmosphere that immediately touches the audience.

Reidar Jensen stands for a special blend of poetic folk, acoustic elegance and a warm, unmistakable voice that tells stories full of depth and humanity. These are thematic songs about understanding, tolerance and love, modelled on the lives of fellow human beings. Many have a religious background; they are about vigilance against injustice and violence, a strong belief in peace and love for one's neighbour.

His songs tell of encounters, life journeys and the quiet moments that often say more than grand gestures.

In addition to his music albums, he presents his lyrics in his book "TAKE A LOOK AROUND YOU".

Admission is free, but visitors are cordially invited to express their appreciation for the concert with a voluntary donation.

The year is 1801 and Petronalla Gempt, née Prümers, is the widow of the well-respected and highly esteemed court apothecary Conrad Gempt. Every day she goes on her errand through her home town of Burgsteinfurt. Today you accompany her and learn a lot about the diseases and remedies of her time. She also tells you about her home, the "Apotheke zum Elephanten", and how it got its name. Of course, she won't let you go without the special apothecary potion against all kinds of infectious diseases, malicious people and nosy neighbours!

The forest woman is often described in fairy tales as a good-natured, clever being. She lives with, in and from the forest. She helps people who are hungry or in need. Whoever goes into the forest (and meets her) comes out a different person.

You too can make this experience on this special nature tour with the forest woman Hulda in the Bagno Forest - get to know the forest giants and other inhabitants of the forest. Hulda explains how people used to look after themselves in the forest. She leads us to magical places and tells short, largely unknown fairy tales and legends from the region, about various creatures of the forest and their coexistence. At the end, there are small delicacies from trees and bushes.

Nature is the connecting element for the artist Jutta Klose and the artist Rainer Bauer. A dialogue between wooden objects, which Jutta Klose often finds in the forest, and Rainer Bauer's large-format depictions of nature, which often show reflections of plants and trees in bodies of water. Unreal and with a sensitive colour spectrum, the oil paintings amaze their viewers. Jutta Klose's objects bear witness to a transformation of naturally found materials, wood or stone, into works of art. A harmonious symbiosis of two people who have found the centre of their lives in art.

The guided tour of the district educational garden provides exciting insights and lots of information for a species-rich garden design. Living areas such as ponds, dry stone walls and herbaceous beds can also be easily realised in the home garden. During the two-hour tour, many practical tips are provided in an easy-to-understand way based on the garden design in the district educational garden.

Imparting gardening knowledge is more important than ever. With the reorientation of the Steinfurt Garden Days, garden beginners, young adults, new garden owners and balcony gardeners are also to be invited to attend the traditional garden seminar in the district educational garden. This year, an exciting programme has once again been put together with a focus on natural gardens and water in the garden. The lectures can also be booked by the day or individually. A new feature is that we are offering evening lectures on two days in order to attract even more working day visitors from the region to the Kreislehrgarten. The social get-together for participants will therefore take place on Wednesday as part of the excursion in the NaturaGart Park in Ibbenbüren.
