Classes 11 and 12 of the Hermann-Emanuel-Kolleg, Education & Social Affairs department, are exhibiting. Together with their teachers Lisa Berkemeier and Andrea Dedio, the pupils have been roaming the old town centre of Burgsteinfurt for several months and showing their very individual and young view of old walls. They transform their impressions into colour, form and language. In doing so, they are also drawing on the colour design of Johannes Itten, as well as Klee and Kandinsky. An exciting confrontation between different generations and an interesting dialogue resulting from this at the vernissage.

Hofrichter and Rentmeister Casper Kestering shares with you stories and facts from everyday life, from the founding of the first brand cooperatives around 700 years after Christ, right into the 20th century: About the beginning of a trade route, border workers in search of money and happiness, about life as a student who had to move from Steinfurt to the Netherlands - and of course about royal Dutch visits to Steinfurt Castle!

For the 48th time, the annual "Jugend gestaltet" competition exhibition showcases the great artistic potential of children and young people aged between 6 and 21 in the Steinfurt district. Painting, photography, videos, sculptures, clay works - there are no limits to the variety of artistic expression. The exhibition makes it clear how children and young people capture the world and document it in art: brightly coloured, carefree and imaginative every year.

Brigitte Bäumer's private painting school "Kreativ in Steinfurt", the Kulturforum with courses by Yvonne Hoppe-Engbring and the "Lichtmaler" under the direction of Steffi Herrmann and Chris Tettke are also well represented this year and have often won prizes.

"Our home - our beer" - the Rolinck brewery still embodies this motto today, more than 200 years after it was founded. The flavoursome, fresh, off-dry beer stands for high and unmistakable quality as well as for Westphalian solidarity with the land and its people. To our beautiful Münsterland!

The year is 1801 and Petronalla Gempt, née Prümers, is the widow of the well-respected and highly esteemed court apothecary Conrad Gempt. Every day she goes on her errand through her home town of Burgsteinfurt. Today you accompany her and learn a lot about the diseases and remedies of her time. She also tells you about her home, the "Apotheke zum Elephanten", and how it got its name. Of course, she won't let you go without the special apothecary potion against all kinds of infectious diseases, malicious people and nosy neighbours!

This course explains the basics of eye grafting. The individual steps are demonstrated in a practical way when grafting several wildlings.

Around 30 different tomato varieties are grown in the district educational garden every year. A presentation will reveal the best way to do this in the home garden. The most important care measures for the plants will then be demonstrated. At the subsequent variety tasting, everyone can get their own impression of the variety of tomatoes.
